Eye Candy

A little treat for you all today.  I stumbled upon this editorial shoot via another blog I'm obsessed with and simply had to share.  Lest I sometimes am guilty of forgetting, to me Fashion is all about having fun and being able to truly express yourself.  I saw this editorial shoot and absolutely loved the whimsical vibe it gave off.  AND, it happened to include a specific pair of fabulous shoes I'd mentioned before here.

Wish List

I'm sure some of you are a bit surprised I had yet to say anything regarding the biggest week of the year (minus Christmas, but that's really more of a month long celebration in my mind).  New York Fashion Week 2012 came and went, and I've always preferred to digest and critique before sharing my opinion.  Out of all the collections Prabal Gurung's Fall show left the greatest impression.  I've always leaned toward tailored, classic pieces with a bit of a twist that can be worn years to come and also always look for a collection where the flow from piece to piece is effortless.  Gurung has only been on the scene for a few years but  is quickly becoming one of my favorite designers because of both meeting and far surpassing my two criteria.  Is he perhaps becoming the Flo' Rida' of the Fashion World?  Too much???

(Hands down my absolute favorite.  The belt! The feathers! The silhouette!  I think I'm in love.)

I spy an Oscar dress.  Even if you don't win one, at least you'll look like the life-sized version.   Prabal,  you get an A+ and a major spot on my Wish List.

South Beach Diet

(View from our Hotel)

After a much needed break of sand, surf and long bike rides (and promising myself to turn-off all forms of technology) I thought I'd share with you some of the things I found beautiful and inspiring in Miami.  I also now totally get why they created an entire diet around South Beach.  It's essentially a one-way ticket to feeling bad about yourself.  Hello beautiful, jacked smokeshows running up and down the beach.  How are YOU doing?

(Drinks at The Delano.  Hands down one of the most beautiful hotels I've ever seen)

(American Apparel Crop Top, Seven For All Mankind shorts, Converse Air Kicks, RayBan Sunnies)

I greatly missed wearing all of my summer clothes and am more than delighted to find that crop tops are huge this Spring as I am slightly obsessed with them.  I think I'm yelling at the boyfriend to hurry up and take my picture. This is typical...

(Urban Outfitters Dress, Forever 21 bracelet at The Delano)

Why yes, I am sitting at the most adorable table complete with a candelabra in an 18 inch swimming pool.  I suggest you all try it at least once in your life.

My South Beach diet consists of margaritas the size of my face.  Highly recommend.

Celeb sightings included Montel Williams and Angela Simmons (Run DMC's daughter).  God, I love a good C-list celebrity sighting.  Bottom line: Miami = Fabu(lous).

Wish List

Have I mentioned I'm going to Miami?  Let me know when it gets to be too obnoxious, but you cannot blame me for having beach on my mind.  I was turned onto this swimsuit line called Anika Brazil by a co-worker and very good friend of mine.  I have been looking and lusting after tribal-inspired swimsuits for probably about two years now, don't ask me why I have yet to purchase one.  Usually I'm just much more tempted by shoes.  The designer, Nicole recently launched this line and I'm obsessed with the cut, colors and ability to mix and match pieces in her entire collection seamlessly.  You all know I can't resist that color blue as it is.

Don't these make you wish you had a bikini for every day of the week?  (All photos c/o Anika Brazil)

Welcome to Miami

Latest obsessions: Instagram (follow me at CKorinch) and Essie's new Turquoise and Caicos nail polish which I thought the perfect compliment to the color palette of Miami.

I'm heading to (you guessed it) Miami for the very first time this weekend for a much, much needed vacation.  Plans include:
  • Dusting off and wearing my Fedora, cut-off shorts and crop tank tops
  • Repeat-Singing Will Smith's 'Welcome to Miami' until the boyfriend throws his hands up in exasperation
  • Reading terrible chic lit by the beach for hours
  • Long runs through the sand
  • Relaxing, relaxing, relaxing

I can't wait.  Have any of you ever been?

Under 10

As expected, at last week's IFB Conference I spotted inspiration after inspiration but one girl's outfit I literally could not keep my eyes off.  Her name is Anna and she writes a blog called This Trend That Trend.  She had on the most incredible looking leather leggings and I had to ask her where in the world she got them.  You can imagine my shock and delight when I was informed she purchased them on Ebay.  For EIGHT DOLLARS.

After a few days of scouring the site, I too found a pair of faux-leather leggings for under $10.  I feel a beautiful relationship in the making Ebay.

Hakuna Matata

Intermix Dress, JCrew Belt, Zara shoes

Don't ask me why, but for some inexplicable reason the pattern of this dress makes me think Tribal.  And when I think tribal, I think Lion King.  A tiny peak into the dangerous and sometimes confusing working of my brain... scary.  I wore this dress the other night with black hose and booties but thought this was a fun spin for trouncing around the city.   Well, as much trouncing as possible in 4 inch wedges...

Warning: Do not attempt a big breakfast/brunch in said outfit.  Showcases every curve (flattering or unflattering, the dress don't care!).

Wish List

My wish this week?  Just a ticket to a few shows at a little ol' thing I like to call Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.  It kicked off yesterday and is now in full swing, showcasing what we all should be wearing this coming Fall.  Here are a few snapshots of yesterday's shows all courtesy of Mercedes-Benz.

What is better, winning the New York Power Ball or attending NYFW with an all-access pass.  I choose Option C, all of the above.

IFB 2K12: Bloggers, Bloggers Everywhere

I must say I can't honestly can't decide what was the best part of this years' IFB Conference.  The fashion, my fellow bloggers or the truly amazing panelists they were able to bring in.  I am incredibly fortunate to live in New York, where the ability to attend something such as this is just a quick hop on the subway.  To be in a room where everyone is as passionate about the same things I am was so inspiring, educational and mind-boggling all at the same time.  Everyone came decked to the hills and there was so much fashion eye-candy I literally felt like I was standing in the middle of Dylan's Candy Bar.  I was able to snap a few trends I kept seeing pop up on fashionista after fashionista, you tell me which was your fave!

Well hello classic Chanel handbag, how would you like to come home with moi?  Not only did I see a few of these but chunky jewelry was on almost every single arm in the place.

Adorable, adorable, adorable.  Love the shoes, love the pants, actually can I just steal this entire look?  Sailor meets City girl, what else can I say besides adorable.

Pastels + Neon + leopard print.  All three are going to be huge for Spring, I was very excited to see them in early February.  Reminds me warmer days will be here before I know it.

Have I said adorable yet?  Oh, okay just checking.

And there you have it.  The photographic journey of my very first IFB Conference.  Highlights include: making new friends, getting advice from the greats and meeting Emily from my very favorite blog Cupcakes and Cashmere.  Luckily all of you were not there to witness my starstruck introduction and handshake. You would have thought I was meeting JLo...

Bootie-licious

Parker Dress, Gap Belt, JCrew Bracelet, Tory Burch Booties

This winter has been so unseasonably warm, I almost can't believe my thermometer half the time.  Luckily, it's still chilly enough to wear my new favorite purchase (thank god) and I'm always a sucker for anything in this color blue.  I love a Bootie that has a clean line but just a little something extra.  It will be a sad, sad day when these will have to be packed up once Spring arrives.

On another note, tomorrow I will be attending my very first Independent Fashion Bloggers Conference! I plan on learning from the greats and photographing all the truly inspirational outfits all the blogger ballerz will be decked out in.  And before you ask, I have NO idea what I'm wearing tomorrow.  Stay tuned!

Wish List

I've decided this week's theme is color-blocking.  I've been obsessing over this trend for quite some time and can't wait to give it a go myself.  For those of you not familiar, by the pictures it should be fairly self-explanatory but let me gladly explain:  It is generally the pairing of a single-colored bottom with a single-colored top and I love when it's done with unexpected colors.  I can't wait to try it out for myself.  Wish me luck!

Under 10

The past few weeks I have been obsessing over color-blocking unexpected combinations you wouldn't normally think to yourself would just work.  This teal and black skirt comes with the most adorable little yellow belt and is begging to be paired with a solid colored hot pink top sitting in my closet.  A skirt AND belt combo for $10?  No. Brainer.
